Almitra Mavalvala
Almitra Mavalvala is a passionate storyteller dedicated to sparking conversations that the West often overlooks. An international student and graduate of AIM’s Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre), she uses her art to challenge stereotypes and amplify South-Asian narratives on stage and screen. Almitra’s show Blacklisted has been an emotional journey, evolving from concept to an ongoing, deeply personal work. Drawing from trauma, she acknowledges the toll it can take on mental health but has developed practices to protect herself while performing. Though the show continues to grow, she looks forward to a future moment of release when the story is fully told. Almitra is committed to advocating for representation in the arts and supporting marginalized communities. Her storytelling transcends the theatre, leaving a lasting impact on audiences and championing diverse voices that deserve to be heard.
