Bachelor of Entertainment Management – Graduated 2017
Carlos started at the Australian Institute of Music as performance student and eventually found his way into the Bachelor of Entertainment Management from which he graduated in 2017. During his time studying, he made many connections. One of which led to the formation of Sydney duo Bootleg Rascal, with Carlos their lead singer.
Taking cues from the likes of Gorillaz, Kid Cudi and Massive Attack, the duo combines an eclectic mix of hip hop, reggae, indie-rock, dub and electronica; all while simultaneously delivering a cohesive sound they make their own.
Since their mid-2013 inception, Bootleg Rascal have released a slew of singles, an EP and two albums, all of which were warmly received globally by critics and fans alike. Multiple tracks and videos have been supported by major international media and streaming platforms and added to high rotation on Australia’s largest youth radio network triple j, as well as performing on the station’s esteemed Like a Version.
Bootleg Rascal have traversed the globe playing multiple sold out headline shows in the US, France, UK, Netherlands, Germany and New Zealand. They’ve also regularly appeared on major Australian festivals including Falls, The Big Pineapple, Lost Paradise, Hills are Alive, Festival of the Sun and Party in the Paddock.
