COMPOSING FOR SONGWRITERS

Learn the fundamentals of songwriting

Composing for Songwriters is a 5 week program for adults (16 years and over), introducing participants to the fundamentals of composition including: rhythmic patterns, common and useful chord progressions, melody writing and song analysis. Music theory is explored in context.

The course is delivered online, live via ZOOM, so a computer with audio, camera and good internet connection is required. Classes are recorded and will be available for all participants.

Lecturer: Daniel Wallace-Crabbe

Daniel Wallace-Crabbe is a highly experienced pianist, composer, arranger and songwriter, creating compositions and performing across an array of styles and musical settings. He lectures in composition at AIM and Sydney University.

    Daniel Wallace-Crabbe has worked as a lecturer at AIM since 2008. He is also a casual lecturer/ tutor at Sydney University. Daniel is a composer/arranger and performer, who works across many different styles of music: from Cuban jazz, Argentine tango to contemporary classical.
