AIM’s new school holiday workshop is designed for high school students interested in music performance. Created for students in Years 9-12, the workshops provide incredible opportunities to experience playing and performing music, mentored by AIM’s own accomplished musicians and educators.
Learn, practice and perform contemporary and classic pop, rock and soul tunes, under the expertise of Australia’s leading music mentors.
Over 2 days students will work with professional musician, guitarist and bassist Noa Kidd to expand their performance skills in a collaborative and inspiring environment. They will workshop communication in an ensemble, chart reading, rhythm, pitch, dynamic, improvisation, stylistic interpretation and performance. Under his guidance they will use these new rehearsal and performance techniques to create a small set of diverse songs in collaboration with other students in the class to a present in a performance for family and friends at the end of day 2.
Monday 16th to Tuesday 17th January
10am to 4pm.
Performance for family and friends commences at 4pm Tuesday.
ABOUT YOUR TEACHER
Australian Institute of Music alumni Noa Kidd has been working as a professional musician in Sydney for the last 10 years. Alongside teaching guitar and bass to all ages, he has gone on tour around Australia and Europe with acts such as the Kings of the Keys and the Roma group Lolo Lovina. He regularly performs throughout Sydney with a wide array of groups from covers bands to session work with local acts such as Santino Salvadore. Renwick, Gloomie, Zorsy, Paul Sun, and Brazilian funk outfit Beliza.
