  • MUSIC PRODUCTION – ABLETON SKILLS 2

    Ableton Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program designed to build on the techniques introduced in the Ableton 1 course or for those looking to take their electronic music production skills to the next level. This course is geared towards users who already have experience using the software or are looking to transition to Live from another DAW, and have general experience creating music in other programs.

  • Composition Skills 1 is a 5-week beginner program that introduces you to compositional techniques used across a variety of music genres to unlock your creativity and music making confidence. You will learn basic song structures, chord progressions, scales, motif structures and rhythmic tools.

  • Composition Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program for designed to build on the compositional techniques introduced in Composition 1 or for those with some experience, to further unlock your creativity and music making confidence. You will learn more advanced song structures, chord progressions, scales, motif structures and rhythmic tools to produce an original composition by the end of the course.

  • This is a 5-week beginner course for adults that takes the student through the fundamental key areas of music theory and harmony. Students with no theoretical knowledge wishing to take any other AIM short courses are encouraged to take the Music Theory Skills 1 course as a precursor.

  • This is a 5-week intermediate course for adults that builds on the fundamental key areas of music theory and harmony introduced in Music Theory Skills 1 and expands that theoretical knowledge. Students with some theory wishing to refresh their knowledge are encouraged to take the Music Theory Skills 2 course.

  • Songwriting Skills 1 is a 5-week beginner program for adults which introduces the fundamentals of songwriting. You will learn lyric rhyme and rhythm patterns, and some common and useful chord progressions towards the development of your own material.

  • Songwriting Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program designed to build on the knowledge and skills gained in Songwriting 1 or for participants with some basic experience.

  • Acting Skills stage 1 is a 5-week beginner program for adults that introduces the basics of the acting process through fun practical activities. You will learn about improvisational and group techniques to develop an understanding of character, relationship and situation using simple text analysis on a basic scene presentation.

  • Acting Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program for adults that further introduces the acting process introduced in Acting 1 or for participants with some basic experience. You will learn more advanced improvisational and group techniques to develop character and relationship using text analysis techniques on a given short scene presentation.

  • Dance Skills 1 is a practical introduction to dance which places emphasis on the role that dance plays in theatrical contexts as a tool for characterisation and storytelling. You will learn a basic warm-up and key dance improvisation techniques towards a simple dance routine.

  • Dance Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program that builds upon the techniques learned in Dance Skills 1 or for participants with some basic experience. You will learn more advanced techniques to perform a choreographed combination with an understanding of rhythm, spatial awareness and dynamics.

  • The Singing Actor, stage 1 course is a 5-week beginner program for adults that introduces you to vocal techniques and warm up exercises that connect the speaking voice to the singing voice. You will learn how to work within a small group to prepare for a song from text analysis, through rhythmic and melodic analysis.
