We’re thrilled to announce the return of Live at AIM in 2021!

Live @ AIM is our unique series of Thursday night performances featuring talented AIM students across the Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Composition and Classical programs. The shows are filmed live @ AIM’s Sydney campus (AIM Melbourne shows to be announced).

Celebrating live music is at the heart of what we do and we couldn’t be more thrilled that this year we can invite our students, staff and alumni to experience the shows, live. Light refreshments provided. You’re also welcome to invite your friends, but be aware, tickets are limited!

Live @ AIM in February 2021:

4th February – Contemporary Student Concert: Join your fellow muso mates and be a part of the first live stream out for this 2021 season. There will be bands, solos and duos all live on campus!

11th February – Cabaret Night: The team in the music theatre department bring you all the best from their brilliant performers. It will be a fabulous night of theatre-style singers!

18th February – Songwriter Showcase: Presented by Simone East, we will be taken on a journey with our songwriters. Be there to hear how they came up with their songs and how they got from concept to concert.

25th February – Classical Student Concert: Presented by Dr. Brieley Cutting, our classical students will shine on this very special night of music, make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to be in the room when this beautiful music swirls through the space.

Dance Skills 1 is a practical introduction to dance for youth which places emphasis on the role that dance plays in theatrical contexts as a tool for characterisation and storytelling. You will learn a basic warm-up and key dance improvisation techniques towards a simple dance routine.
Songwriting Skills 1 is a 4-week beginner program for youths which introduces the fundamentals of songwriting. You will learn lyric rhyme and rhythm patterns, and some common and useful chord progressions towards the development of your own material.
Vocal Skills 1 is a 4-week beginner program for youths, designed to teach students how to use proper vocal technique. The class will focus on warming up, posture, breath control, with an introduction to vocal health, intonation and harmonising with others.

Youth Acting Skills 1 is a 4-week beginner program that introduces the basics of the acting process through fun practical activities. You will learn about improvisational and group techniques to develop an understanding of character, relationship and situation using simple text analysis on a basic scene presentation.
The 5-Day Intensive school holiday program is a series of collective and collaborative face-to-face practical classes focused on different aspects of music, taught by AIM’s professional staff and guest artists. Over the course of the week, students will come together for large group exercises and masterclasses, as well as streaming into their specialisation classes for music performance, music theatre performance and music production.
Ableton Skills Youth is a 4-week beginner program that introduces you to the basic operations of Ableton Live and offers a great introduction to the fundamentals of creating music in one of the world’s most popular digital audio workstations. You will learn the basic operations of Ableton Live and gain some rudimentary knowledge and skills towards recording and editing Audio/MIDI files.
Dance Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program that builds upon the techniques learned in Dance Skills 1 or for participants with some basic experience. You will learn more advanced techniques to perform a choreographed combination with an understanding of rhythm, spatial awareness and dynamics.
Dance Skills 1 is a practical introduction to dance which places emphasis on the role that dance plays in theatrical contexts as a tool for characterisation and storytelling. You will learn a basic warm-up and key dance improvisation techniques towards a simple dance routine.
Acting Skills 2 is a 5-week intermediate program for adults that further introduces the acting process introduced in Acting 1 or for participants with some basic experience. The Singing Actor, stage 2 course for adults is a 5-week intermediate-beginner program that builds upon the techniques learned in the Singing Actor Stage , or for participants with some basic experience. Working within a small group, you will learn more advanced vocal techniques to engage with the whole class in the preparation and performance of an ensemble song.
The Singing Actor, stage 1 course is a 5-week beginner program for adults that introduces you to vocal techniques and warm up exercises that connect the speaking voice to the singing voice. You will learn how to work within a small group to prepare for a song from text analysis, through rhythmic and melodic analysis.
