Join us at “The Future of Music Sounds Different” for an afternoon of fascinating talks and innovative music performances on May 27th at AIM Sydney. A VIVID Festival event, “The Future of Music Sounds Different” is an opportunity to discover the future of the music industry and the cutting edge of music tech. Our forward-thinking panel of speakers includes:

Exploring everything from Virtual Reality to Artificial Intelligence to the cutting edge of mental health technology, “The Future of Music Sounds Different” shines a light on where the industry is heading next, and the creatives who are leading us there. The event will conclude on AIM’s Sydney Harbour-facing rooftop, with incredible views of the opening night of the VIVID Festival. 

This event is presented by the Australian Institute of Music and AIM’s iHUB, the only music startup incubator and accelerator in the southern hemisphere. The iHUB community of innovators are creating the future of the industry – web3, NFTs, live streaming VR, metaverse creation, audio fingerprinting, simple music therapy and so much more. Alon Ilsar:

Alon combines the physicality of drumming with the unlimited possibilities of computer music, taking the practice of real-time electronic music to a new realm.

Alon is a drummer, composer, sound designer and instrument designer. He is co-designer of a new interface for electronic percussionists called the AirSticks, using the instrument in projects such as The HourThe SticksTuka (from Thundamentals), Sandy Evans’ ‘Rockpool,’ Ellen Kirkwood’s ‘[A]part‘, Kirin J Callinan, Kind of Silence (UK), Velize (US), Cephalon (US), Aether (US), Voyager (US), Bondi Dreaming, Silent Spring, Trigger Happy, Monotreme (US) and Brian Campeau.

Ichika Asoto:

Ichika is an aspiring Sydney based experimental electronic music composer. Born in Japan, and having lived in the U.S., Germany, and Australia, she integrates her unique cultural identity into her music by being versatile and idiosyncratic in all aspects of her composition.
