Our scholarships support dedicated musicians in specific areas of study, offering exclusive mentorship and internship opportunities to help you thrive.
To qualify for a scholarship, you must first submit your application to study at AIM.

Musical Excellence Scholarships
We are pleased to announce the new Musical Excellence Scholarship.
The Musical Excellence Scholarship is awarded to a select group of applicants who demonstrate exceptional musical skill in their audition, along with a strong drive for success in the music industry. Recipients, assessed in consultation with the academic assessor, receive a fee reduction valued at more than $7,000 across the duration of their degree.
We encourage all applicants to apply, and successful applicants will be notified prior to commencement.
Students enrolling in the following courses are eligible for a Musical Excellence scholarship:
- Bachelor of Music (Composition)
- Bachelor of Music (Creative Technology)
- Bachelor of Music (Musicology)
- Bachelor of Music (Performance)
- Bachelor of Music Theatre
The Justin Cosby Scholarship
The Justin Cosby Scholarship was established to honour the renowned A&R Director and co-founder of Inertia Music, who passed away in 2021.
Justin’s passion was discovering and being inspired by great music. This scholarship aims to foster diversity in the music industry and support future pioneers of the music business, paying homage to Justin’s enduring legacy in music.
This scholarship is jointly funded by AIM and generous donations from Justin’s family, friends and business associates. The scholarship is awarded to one domestic student per year to undertake a Bachelor of Music Business or Bachelor of Music (Music Business) degree.
The successful candidate will receive a scholarship covering two-thirds of the cost of the degree (valued at $45,000), encompassing the entire duration of their studies at AIM, including mentoring and internship opportunities.
Eligibility & Selection Process
Applicants must:
- Meet the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Music Business or Bachelor of Music (Music Business) program.
- Be commencing study in February 2027 (Study Period 1)
Selection criteria: Students will be selected based on a personal statement (maximum 200 words) outlining their love of music and the impact this scholarship would have on their journey.
The Justin Cosby Scholarship Selection Panel will consider applicants. Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.

Indigenous Scholarships
AIM’s Indigenous Scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in accessing high-quality music education, helping to nurture the next generation of artists and industry leaders.
Recipients receive a 10% tuition fee reduction across the duration of their degree, along with dedicated support throughout their application and enrolment journey.
We strongly encourage Indigenous applicants to connect with our Future Student Advisors when applying, so we can provide guidance and ensure you are supported every step of the way.
