As daunting as it may feel for some, your first week on campus is designed to help you settle in, connect with your new community, and get a feel for what life at AIM is all about.

Meet your new mates at Orientation
We know it’s cliché, but there’s no better way to break the ice with your new classmates than jamming out and getting to know each other, and that’s exactly what our Orientation week is for!
You’ll join a campus full of fresh faces at either our Sydney or Melbourne O-Week, where our friendly team of academics, campus staff, and current student community will help you settle in and find your new home on campus.
Whether you’re keen to set up camp in one of our many recording studios or can’t wait to practise your favourite music theatre standards, we’re here to help you familiarise yourself with all of the facilities at your disposal.
You’ll also meet your lecturers (many of whom are working musicians) and discover the ins and outs of your course thanks to our dedicated academic sessions. If you need a helping hand, our Orientation will also introduce you to your new support crew, also known as our Student Support, Student Success, and Student Wellbeing teams, who are here to help you thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

In addition to our official Orientation Party, your time at AIM will regularly feature live music sessions, jam nights, creative workshops, and maybe even your first gig on campus. Once classes kick off, the magic really begins. From your first performance workshop to your first collaborative project, the AIM experience is designed to get you ready to make your mark in the music industry from day one.
Alongside your new friends from Orientation, you’ll find yourself surrounded by instrumentalists, producers, songwriters, business minds, and performers all chasing their own creative goals, so there’s never a shortage of ways to get involved with your fellow students.
