How to Apply
Applying to the Australian Institute of Music is easy. To find out all the information you need, select the option that applies to you.
Domestic Students
You are a domestic student if you are:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen (including dual citizens)
- a permanent resident of Australia
- a holder of a permanent Australian humanitarian visa.
International Students
You are an international student if you are NOT:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen (including dual citizens)
- a permanent resident of Australia
- a holder of a permanent Australian humanitarian visa.
Intake and Census Dates
AIM has three study periods per year. These are our 2024 dates.
Study Period 1 2024
- Orientation for new students: 29 February to 2 February
- Week 1: 5 February to 9 February
- Census date: 22 February
- Week 7 Study Break: 18 March to 22 March
- Week 13 Assessment Week: 29 April to 3 May.
Study Period 2 2024
- Orientation for new students: 20 May to 24 May
- Week 1: 27 May to 31 May
- Census date: 13 June
- Week 7 Study Break: 8 July to 12 July
- Week 13 Assessment Week: 19 August to 23 August.
Study Period 3 2024
- Orientation for new students and week 1: 9 September to 13 September
- Census date: 26 September
- Week 7 Study Break: 21 October to 28 October
- Week 13 Assessment Week: 2 December to 6 December.
