Entry Requirements

School leaver applicants must:

  • Have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 qualification (or overseas equivalent as assessed by the Department of Education, including the International Baccalaureate (IB)), in the last 2 years.

Students who have successfully completed the senior level of the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (or equivalent (VCAL/VCE(VM)in the last 2 years; may be eligible for entry into a diploma level course.  Students may use the diploma as a pathway into a degree.

Applicants are required to attend an interview or live audition and provide a portfolio of two live or recorded music performances.

Meet Your Teachers

Wen Zhu

Australian violinist Wen Zhu was born in China and began learning violin at age five. She was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing before moving to Australia, where she has studied at AIM, Tasmanian Conservatory of Music and the Sydney Conservatorium.

Novita Jap

Novita trained at Lasalle College of the Arts under Frank DeMeglio and earned Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Australian Institute of Music under Irina Klamka and Zsuzsa Giczy, supported by scholarships for excellence. Her studies led to solo recitals at St. Andrew’s Cathedral and the Art Gallery of NSW.

Sydney-born pianist Vatche Jambazian completed his Master of Music at The Juilliard School in New York following studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

David Greco

Internationally regarded for his interpretations of Schubert lieder and solo works of J.S Bach, ARIA Award-nominated baritone David Greco has sung on some of the finest stages across Europe and appeared in celebrated opera festivals including Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Chloe Chung

Chloe Chung is an innovative cross-cultural flautist, playing Western classical flute and dizi (Chinese bamboo flute). Her passion for creativity, sustainability and health education are central to her work as an active performer, teacher, and emerging creative director.

jack ward

Jack Ward

Jack studied a Master’s degree under the tutelage of Andreas Brantelid at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Previous teachers include Howard Penny at the Australian National Academy of Music, Janis Laurs, Georg Pedersen and private tutelage from Nicolas Alstaedt, Johannes Moser and Alban Gerhardt.

Ryley Gillen has been The Ballet Team’s Artistic Director and Chief Conductor since 2016, driving a widespread appreciation of ballet in Regional NSW through creative programming, the sharing of community led stories and increasing the visibility of emerging dancers.
