What You’ll Study
The classical pathway is only available at the Sydney Campus.
Within the classical pathway, we offer majors in the following instruments: Piano, Voice, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Trumpet, and Flute. Don’t see your instrument listed? We are committed to supporting a wide range of talented musicians. To ensure we can provide you with the best mentor from day one, we will work with you to align your commencement with the most suitable intake. We strongly encourage you to apply and begin the conversation with our faculty.
You will develop your skills as a performer in your instrument of choice through a mix of one-on-one sessions and group learning. You will participate in collaborative projects with students from other specialisations – including composition and creative technology – to develop your experience working across various areas of music.
There are three stages in the Bachelor of Music (Performance), depending on the depth of study you prefer.
You may exit with a Diploma of Music at the end of 3 study periods.
Domestic students may exit with the Associate Degree of Music at the end of 4 study periods full-time (accelerated).
The Bachelor of Music (Performance) is awarded upon completion of 6 study periods for domestic students only (2 years full-time accelerated).
