Jo was raised in New Zealand where she studied Jazz Performance and was presented with the ‘Jazz Soloist of the South Island’ Award. Since then Jo has gone on to study various forms of entertainment including dance, stage/television acting and vocal technique. Her list of acting credits include a lead role in The Official Tribute to the Blues Brothers-Live on Stage a featured role in the TV series Hercules and a lead role in the TV series Deadly Women. Jo’s first single, Closest Thing to Heaven, was released through Warner Bros Music New Zealand, and went to number 5 on the NZ pop charts. Since moving to Sydney in 1998, Jo has built up a name for herself within the music industry and has an impressive list of credits to her name including working iconic artists such as Tina Arena, Mark Williams, Julie Anthony, Barry Leef, John Waters and Glenn Shorrock to name but a few.

Jo is constantly performing around Sydney as well as being an in-demand session singer voice over artist and actress. She feels at home playing guitar, piano and percussion as well as singing in ensembles with some of Australia’s most respected artists and musicians. Jo has won awards for her original compositions in both the 25th Australian National song-writing contest and the Musicoz Awards. She’s appeared on Mornings with Kerri-Anne Kennerley and has given electric performances at The Manly International Jazz Festival, The Darling Harbour Jazz and Blues Festival, The Norfolk Island Jazz Festival and The New Zealand International Jazz and Blues Festival. Jo tours regularly with Stewart D’Arrietta’s hit show ‘My Leonard Cohen’ both here in Australia and throughout Europe and is currently on tour with Iconic stage and screen actor John Waters in his new show ‘Radio Luxembourg’ playing to packed theatres throughout Australia. Jo is now headlining her own successful new show ‘Songbirds of the 60s and 70s’ and has a new album of original compositions coming out later this year produced by the legendary guitarist Jim Kelly.

Jo is a twice nominated ACE Award vocalist in the Best Solo Female Artist category.
