The Diploma of Arts and Entertainment Management is a practical program for those who want to join the music industry’s ever-expanding business and management side. 

This Diploma is a starting point to explore where you fit in the music business. It is excellent for both school-leavers and mature-age students to build the skills for today’s fast-paced music industry. 

In 12 months, you will build your foundations and learn the underlying principles of effective management.

Try a Diploma of Music (Pathway into Bachelor of Arts and Entertainment management) 

Not quite ready for a full three-year degree? See if tertiary music studies are for you with a one-year Diploma of Arts & Entertainment Management. You’ll undertake foundational units in business of the music industry, whilst acquiring musical literacy and academic skills. The Diploma is an industry-recognised qualification. We’ll credit all your completed units, along with a successful audition – so you can continue into the Bachelor of Music Theatre degree as a second-year student. 

To gain entry into the Diploma of Arts & Entertainment Management courses, you must also provide the following: 

  • Have already achieved the Guaranteed ATAR/Clearly-In ATAR of 60.00 or higher, or 
  • Provide a portfolio, including a CV and cover letter 

AND 

Must have achieved ONE of the following:  

  • Satisfactory completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Year 12 Certificate in the last 2 years (such as HSC or VCE*) and satisfy the minimum English language entry of a Band 3 in HSC English Standard (or equivalent)  
  • Satisfactory completion of IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma qualification in the past 2 years  
  • Satisfactory completion of an AQF VET qualification (Certificate IV and above, or equivalent as assessed by DET)  
  • Satisfactory completion of at least 6 months full-time tertiary study (AQF level 5 or higher)  
  • Be a mature age student (21 years or older)  

*NOTE: Completion of Senior VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) does not meet these requirements.
