Academic Requirements
To be considered for admission into an Undergraduate program, applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Recent secondary school completion: Successful completion of a senior secondary qualification equivalent to the Australian Year 12 (as assessed by the Department of Education), including the International Baccalaureate (IB), within the last two years.
- Higher education study: Completed at least one term of full-time Higher Education (HE) study (or the part-time equivalent) at AQF level 5 degree or higher (or its overseas equivalent); OR successfully completed an AQF VET qualification Certificate IV or above (or its overseas equivalent).
Applicants who have not completed one term of Higher Education studies or a Certificate IV or above will be assessed on their secondary school results.
Please note that other selection criteria, including English proficiency, will be considered.
There are two pathways for admission into our Master of Music program:
Standard Entry
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree, and
- Relevant professional experience in the music industry.
Entry Based on Professional Experience
- We understand that valuable learning also happens outside of the classroom. If you do not have a formal Bachelor’s degree, we may offer you a place based on your extensive professional experience. Your application should demonstrate that your background and skills have prepared you for success at a postgraduate level.
English Language Requirements
All students must demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to participate effectively in their chosen course of study. Meeting the specified English language requirements is mandatory prior to admission.
Applicants born in an English-speaking country or who hold citizenship in an English-speaking country, who have completed a recognised Australian year 12 or AQF4 or above qualification (or equivalent) in English shall be deemed to have met the English language requirement.
All other applicants will be considered to have met the English language requirements if they meet one of the following criteria:
- (1) An approved English Language test (see below)
- (2) Completion of an approved English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program (see below)
- (3) Other approved evidence related to Domestic applicants such as secondary schooling in English and/or work experience.
