Want to study the Bachelor of Music Theatre at AIM in 2024? Our on-campus Audition Day gives you the chance to showcase your acting, singing and dancing abilities to impress our judging panel!
Auditioning is required in order to apply for entry to this program. Register for our Audition Day to collaborate with our faculty through a group dance workshop, get a sense of student life at AIM and complete your audition.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT A MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION
This audition is for students who want to study from Study Period 1, 2024.
At this Audition Day, prospective students will participate in a 1:1 interview/audition and a group dance workshop facilitated by AIM staff.
The individual audition consists of a performance of two contrasting pieces and a short monologue.
- Both pieces are to be performed with our staff accompanist. Please bring sheet music for this.
- The performance should demonstrate your ability to act through song.
- If music can’t be sourced, performance with a backing track is allowed.
- We will also have a short conversation with you to learn more about your background and experience, and what you’re looking to get out of study.
We will also host a group dance workshop that will give you the opportunity to interact with our dance teacher in a group setting.
- Please bring chorus heels and dance shoes for this.
- You will not be assessed on your dance ability.
